Samaritan Awards recognize businesses that promote healthy work and family balance. These companies demonstrate a family-friendly work environment through policies, practices, and procedures. Nominations are accepted in the fall, and nominees must be located in St. Joseph County and have 10 or more employees.

The Samaritan Awards have a dual purpose. The first purpose is to publicize the “best-practices” and so encourage other area organizations to improve their own work environments, benefiting their employees, their families, and our entire community. The second purpose is to generate funding so that uninsured and underinsured clients at the Samaritan Counseling Center may receive the professional help they need.

Proceeds from the luncheon event are placed in the Samaritan Counseling Center’s Client Assistance Fund to benefit members of economically disadvantaged families who seek professional counseling therapy.
