Clergy Care and Challenge Groups

Are you seeking fresh avenues for spiritual growth?
Do you desire to be encouraged in your vocation as a clergy?
Would you find a collegial community helpful?

The Samaritan Center recognizes the need for ongoing care for today’s busy leaders. We understand how demanding ministry can be. In response to this need, we are offering opportunities for pastoral leaders who seek both nurture and challenge in their work. We welcome as participants all who are empowered by their faith communities and traditions to teach and lead others. Register for one of our groups here.

Group Clergy Care and Challenge

Each group meets monthly for 3.5 hours, including lunch. The goal is to provide a safe environment for meaningful conversation with real personal and collective growth. These groups gather around the twin poles of book study and case study, informed by family and natural systems thinking.  Beginning groups use Peter Steinke’s “Congregational Leadership in Anxious Times:  Being Calm and Courageous No Matter What,” and Roberta Gilbert’s “The Eight Concepts of Bowen Theory.” Groups are limited to eight participants.

Annual Course Fee: $360 ($45/month for eight sessions which includes lunch in some groups).
